He spoons because he lives in a cold place, i presume, and spooning another dragon at night helps with that. Or maybe he spoons because he is partial to spoons even in situations in which a fork or a knife would work better. Or maybe his name-giver made a typo in Spook. Maybe he collects spoons. Maybe he is a collection of spoons turned into a dragon by arcane magic. Spooky spoons.
