━━━━━━━ Role ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ithake hunts malevolent spirits and fiends around the Hewn City - and in the Carrion Canyon to a lesser extent. When not on the road, one can usually find him in Ostraka or Dust Bleak. While he works for the Caravanserai, he can easily be persuaded to take a side-job or two for outsiders, provided they're not too nosy about his personal life and his strange comings and goings.

━━━━━━━ Background ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Born in one of the lairs that dot the coastal cliffs of the Sunbeam Ruins, Ithake cultivated from an early age an interest in ancient lore and the occult. His family always speculated that his strange eyes were a sign that he was favoured by the Lightweaver. His intellect was more than just precocious, so his relatives pushed him into studying magic in the hopes he would find infinite puzzles to solve.

He moved to the main lair of the clan near the Hewn City to study under the guidance of Cheshire, the clan's astrologer, who also taught him combat magic. During his apprenticeship, Ithake mishandled a strange artifact his clan had recently unearthed from the ruins. Ithake fell under the influence of a curse, which his clan proved unable to dispell. He decided to leave them for their own good and seek help elsewhere for a cure.

Experience taught him that his curse tied him to the Hewn City for some reason. This land exerted an eerie pull on him. The longer he would stay in proximity with the ruins, the stronger his magic would get; but it would also affect his body, which would start distorting and becoming more fiendish.

On the other hand, the side-effects would disappear when he would travel away from the ruins, but he would start feeling weaker and weaker until he could not go any further.

After searching for years in the Carrion Canyon, where many a strange creature and witches would dwell, his hope of finding a cure faded and he embraced his nomadic life. He would offer his services to solve supernatural mysteries and occasionally stop by Dust Bleak to gather supplies, meeting a few acquaintances there.

Ithake met with the Caravanserai when the clan took refuge in Dust Bleak. He became close to Impala and joined him when the Caravanserai moved on to their new capital city.

The capital sits at the very limit of how far Ithake can be from the Hewn City, so he only stays around for a few days at a time. Fortunately, Impala's occupation as an ambassador allows him to visit Ithake in Dust Bleak and Ostraka regularly.

━━━━━━━ Relations ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ithake and Impala share a mysterious bond to the Talonok, although they differ in essence. Regardless, this is what first brought them together as they were looking for answers about their nature. Soon enough they were inseparable and became lovers. While their relationship is open, they are romantically exclusive to each other.

Ostraka is not a hatchling-friendly location. It is crowded with criminals of all stripes, not to mention the supernatural dangers around the outpost that might seep in. In spite of everything, romance does occasionally happen either in or out of town, and residents may find themselve nesting.

Responsible parents arrange for their hatchlings to be raised elsewhere, and those with no wish of parenthood may send away their eggs to Moshkaran's Orphan Asylum, Riftmaw's Orphanage, or other destinations along the clan's trade routes. Any urchin found in the streets of Ostraka would be taken to another location before they get snatched by evil creatures and outsiders.

Ithake is only a genitor and is not interested in fatherhood. While his curse does not carry over his offspring, skydancer hatchlings from him may grow larger and look more feral-looking than average.
