Starved, abandoned, and forsaken he had been wandering around in the Starfall Isles. October didn’t even have a name then because no had given him a name. During a hunting trial for new recruits, Vanna had found October wandering. She assumed he was just hunting so she ran over and asked him to leave. October gave her a blank stare and then fainted. Vanna gave the call to come back to her. Ebony helped carry October to their lair where Twilight and Korsa nursed him back to health. Siva and Kaede name all of the new hatchlings, so they gave him the name October. He has lived in the clan since then, slowly getting healthier with the love and affection of Siva, Kaede, and Vanna.
