Biography
Artifact Specialist
Technical Department
Educated Quiet Handsome
T H E M E:
Unlike so many of the other Crows, Caspian comes from untold wealth. His lineage is a pure and true one -- not a royal or noble family, but a well-respected one, powered by merchants and academics of great renown. He grew up surrounded by Imperial traditionalists who believed that a hatchling must part ways with their parents when they come of age, and never look back. Caspian was well-prepared for his departure. His archeology experience and growing interest in artifacts and their history propelled him out of the nest and on his way. It wasn't long before he ended up in the Tangled Wood.
Caspian didn't mean to work for the Silent Crow. Most dragons don't. He heard about an opening in their technical department and, with very little idea of the true nature of the organization, aced his interview with Akuma and signed on board. When word got around the outpost that the new Artifact Specialist was a civilian, Chisai considered firing him quietly, but Akuma protested. He argued for Caspian, explaining that the new addition to his department was already becoming invaluable. It was true -- Caspian would have been difficult to replace. He was technically knowledgeable, discreet, and smart enough to know who wasn't worth talking back to. Although she was hesitant at first, Chisai agreed to keep him on board.
Since then, Caspian has settled into the outpost nicely and become one of the central members of the Chancellors' inner circle. His relationship to most of the other Crows is more professional than personal, but they have learned to hold trust in him. Eloise's department sends him a wide variety of objects to review. He keeps a meticulous catalogue of everything that comes in and everything that goes out. He appraises and dates artifacts, translates old books, and helps Eloise with pricing and compiling shipments for their contacts. His job allows him to keep his claws both literally and metaphorically clean, but he has grown plenty aware of what he's participating in. For Caspian, the morality is simply what it is. He has a job. He has a family, of sorts. Camaraderie, at the very least. He does his job well and that is the end of it. Whatever implications come from that are none of his business.
