Shenandoah

Shenandoah's first memories are of Nightcloud. She remembers him comforting her and telling her that everything will be okay as he wiped away the tears from her eyes. Even as a hatchling, Shenandoah was about as big as Nightcloud, yet he still managed to soothe her panicked state. After a time, the strange blue Guardian that accompanied him suggested that he could get her to fly to where Nightcloud was headed back to by using a temporary spell, which was accepted.

Upon being introduced to the dragons of Diamoor, she was completely overwhelmed! She began to cry out and squirming away from the dragons until Nightcloud showed up to see what was wrong. After seeing him, she waddled up to him and hid her face in his mane.

"Well, it's settled," she heard an older sounding dragon say. "Congratulations, Nightcloud. It's a girl." There was laughter from all around them, but she didn't care. Nightcloud was her safe place, and all of these strange dragons were scary.

"What's her name, Nightcloud?" A different dragon said.

"Uh," Nightcloud studdered. He sounded nervous like he didn't intend for her to get this attached to him. He paused for a moment as he looked over the Tundra-sized hatchling before he spoke again. "Shenandoah. Her name is Shenandoah." He gently wrapped a wing around her as his other hand reached for her face. He moved Shenandoah's head to face him. As her deep green eyes met his electric blue ones, he smiled at her. Shenandoah cooed at him and began stamping the ground happily. This was what she had always wanted, a place to belong and a family to love her. She could not ask for more.



Nowadays, Shenandoah can be found where ever Nightcloud is. She has followed him everywhere since the day they first met and play on keeping it that way, as he is her Charge. Though she has the mannerisms of a Tundra, she still fights like a Guardian thanks to lessons from Sunweaver. Though Nightcloud gets nervous around fighting, he has put his fear aside for Shenandoah's training. "Me learning to fight is more important that you dying because I can't fight," she would tell him.

Though she can protect Nightcloud, as well as any other Guardian, could, she would much rather play around than act professionally. Her favorite game to play is "Catch the Tail." In this game, Nightcloud would fling his tail back and forth while she swatted at it. While very rarely ending in injury, others see this game as risky, but this doesn't stop them.

Even though Nightcloud did not intend on having his own family, in his words, "I wouldn't have it any other way. Shenandoah is my beautiful little girl. She is my support and I am hers. In that way, I guess we were meant to be a family."

"You know I'm, like, WAY bigger than you. Right, dad?" She lowered her head to be level with his.

"Yes, I'm aware of your size compared to mine." The Tundra placed a hand on her head and smiled, "But, no matter how big you get, you're still gonna be my little girl."

"Aww! DAAAAAD! STOOP IIIT!!" She hid her face in his mane as he laughed at her embaressed reaction.
