Leadership is passed down into the family. Given a God-like name, Nereus was named after the sea. His destiny was to lead his pack into a peaceful and calm time against the Water Tribe. Proving to them there was no need to fight, and to show them there was no use in war. Nereus was born early Spring with his 2 siblings. But, when he was born there was a disease spreading around, and it managed to end his siblings' lives.

After the earlier Leader, his father, Pontus, passed away after a battle wound. Pontus transfered all his power over to Nereus and his mate, Gaia. Every year when the sun is at its highest, they celebrate Pontus' courage.
