As the Sage of the Sun, Amaterasu represents the interest of the Lightbringer and her followers in the clan assemblies. She is an aggressive defender and (never one to beat around the bush) a strong proponent of direct action. However, she expects no one to do what she herself will not. If she suggests a course of action, it is a given that she is the first to offer her services. She often acts as a judge during clan disputes, and attempts to act as impartially as possible, though she cannot damper her exuberant passion for justice.

When not working as the Representative of the Lightbringer, Amaterasu runs a metalsmithing business. Capable of working everything from gold, to silver, to copper and bronze, she is responsible for the both the clan's decoration as well as some of its technological mechanisms. As a result she often works closely with Sapphire, refining his inventions and making them safer and making production more practical, as well as Moon and Umbra, when the two jewelers require assistance with custom orders.

Amaterasu is honest, open, and direct. She strongly follows her own code of honor, which she would rather die than compromise and expects the same in return. In addition, she despises secrets and conspiracies, naturally putting her at odds with Shalim almost constantly.

In an ironic twist of fate, a mediation ritual gone wrong during a solar eclipse has left Amaterasu blind. She has taken up more and more roles as a judge, as some of her more warlike duties are no longer as feasible. She takes a bitter pleasure in this. After all, justice is blind.
