______ Poker is tall, slender, and lithe, and when he looks at you, even though you're a complete stranger, you're surprised to see an almost naive trust in his sunny eyes.

"Hi! I'm Poker, son of Orchid and co-leader of the sanctuary." He ends that last bit with some air quotes, adding that he's "not really the leader- everyone living here is free to do what they'd like. Unlike other lairs, we don't ask dragons to bow for us or worship us or anything; just see me as your buddy!"

He's a little dorky, but a good "co-leader," and you like him already..

______ Poker barely knew his father Joan, but he resembles him closely, with a laidback attitude and seemingly permanent smile. On the inside, though, he feels an intense pressure to live up to his father's legacy and his mother's influence on the sanctuary, and his refusal to show it can make him seem fake. He's trying, slowly but surely, to carve out his own place in the group, not just to follow the footsteps of his parents.
