His name was not Adrianne. That witch of a skydancer could call him it all she liked- see if he cared. He didn't! So what if all the rest of the clan started to call him that? So what if that was actually one of his sisters, miles away? He wouldn't let all these cooky dragons, with their backwards thinking and name changing, get to him! He was a shadow dragon, he was better than all of them.

Arcanist. What kind of name is that for a god? What was with these dreamy-eyed fools, who spent more time gazing at the sky or fiddling with bits of crystal than they did hunting? Why had he ever thought anywhere was better than home? He missed his momma, and he missed training.
So, he'd just have to whip these dragons into shape, so they were proper dragons, instead of fools like they were now.

His first follower would be a wildclaw, picked up in the Starlight Trees, or whatever this foolish clan called them. There would be more.... and when he removed himself from his shadowed mirror form and took over the shape of the fire imperial, there would be a reckoning.
