Biography
Hatha | Wanderer
"Someone once said 'Not all who wander are lost.' At the same time, not all who are lost are wandering." |
This roving Guardian goes by the name Hatha, though many refer to her simply as "The Wanderer."
Hatha left home at a young age, as Guardians do, in search of her Charge. But she didn't realize at the time that her destined Charge wasn't a living being, or even a tangible object. Her journey to find her Charge never really ends, because the journey is her Charge. At least, that's the most accurate explination she can come up with. Hatha wants her journey to be recorded for future generations to recount. So with only her trusty bow, a rough leather-bound journal, and her chipskink named Razzle, she has set out on her adventure. 
Journal Entry One The Engake clan has been very good to me. I never thought I would find a clan that would welcome me as one of their own so readily. Mama said I was going away because our homeclan needed money. She said I was probably going to be exalted to one of the deities. I guess it might not have been too bad. Mama always said that the exalted dragons lived with the deities in beautiful, massive lairs where you were never hungry and everything you could ever want was there. Everyone just lies around talking and sleeping, never having to hunt or gather food. But that sounds kinda boring to me. I like adventure. I get fidgety when I have nothing to do. Mama said I may have been a Guardian, but sometimes she thought I was a Spiral. But I know I'm definitely a Guardian, because I need to find my Charge. PS: I forgot to mention that Keziah gave this journal to me as a welcoming gift when I arrived. I love it! It's very durable and you can even replace the pages when it gets full. Plus the pages are enchanted so the writing won't run if it gets wet. I have a feeling I'll be filling it over and over again. Entry Two I met some of the other Guardians who live here and asked them how they knew when they found their Charges. Ohseptesess said she knew as soon as she saw Eric that he was her charge. She said it felt like the universe fell into place, and she felt completed. Ambra said she met Talik when she saved him after a mudslide. Unlike Ohseptesess, it took her months to realize Talik was her Charge. But she also said everything felt right when she was with him. I guess I just have to keep looking for whomever or whatever makes me feel whole. I'll keep that in mind as I prepare for my Search. Entry Three I realized today that I only feel whole when I'm exploring new places. Maybe that's my Charge? I mentioned something to Daryun, another one of the Guardians who lives here, and he said he'd never heard of a Charge being something intangible like that. But he said that I'm the only one who can identify my Charge. So I think I've found my Charge: It's my adventure. And if not, maybe I'll find my Charge along the way. I have archery training with Galadesh later, so I'll ask him what he thinks. Entry Four Training with Galadesh went great! He said I'm a natural at it. But he didn't really have much advice about finding my Charge. At first he thought Razzle was my Charge, but I explained that he's just my companion. Galadesh doesn't think he's qualified to give that kind of advice since he's not a Guardian. He did encourage me to do what makes me happy, though. I think I'll be ready to head out in the next few days. I have a few more training sessions with Galadesh, and I need to gather some gear before I leave. Although I kind of wonder now: Maybe my journal is my Charge? Maybe both my journal and my adventure are my Charge. I don't really know for sure right now... Entry Five Today's the day I head out. Galadesh gave me my own bow and quiver for my journey. Bora and Esinti gave me a bag containing a bundle of herbs and some salves. Hopefully I won't need them, but it's good to have them just in case. Plus, the bag gives Razzle a great place to take a nap. He's already in love with it. I'm also bringing my journal along. I think I've realized that my Charge isn't just my adventure, but the memories I make along the way. I want to record them, and this journal is the perfect thing for it! So my journal will contain my Charge. It just feels right when I put it that way. Well, this is my last entry before I leave. |
