______ Shimkoh was jolted awake by a deep rumbling. He sighed and left his house. Just as he had suspected, the world was crumbling before his eyes. His claws squelched into the blue slime which covered the ground. Soft light emanated from the eyeball kelp deep beneath the surface of the slime. Shimkoh couldn’t help but to feel a sense of loss as he watched his dimension tear itself apart. It was painful to see those he cared for be so distraught. He dug his claws into the slime to repress himself from yelling out in anger. Why would anyone want to take a piece of zalic? Why would they want to destroy the serenity and happiness of his people? How could anyone be so heartless? Then he realized something. He was not weak, he was helpless, he could help his people. With no plans in his mind, but a heart full of hope, Shimkoh charged towards the Bridge of the Banished. ______

______Wind pulled at the fragile cloths of Shimkoh’s hot air balloon. The vessel was thrown to and fro in the sky. Shimkoh fought against the wind, trying to stay on the path he had intended. Something caught his eye, something large coming towards the balloon. He peered through the rain to try and determine what the object was. Before he could move, the object slammed right into him and he blacked out. When he woke up, he was lying on something… squishy. For a moment, he believed that he was back home, but when he opened his eyes, he was surprised with the truth. The air around him smelled like sickness. He shuddered and stood up. The earth around him seemed to be alive. He felt as though the thick, meaty, tentacles would grab him and pull him in.

______A deep voice sounded behind Shimkoh. He whipped around to see a gray-ish purple spiral. “Are you lost.” The spiral slowly edged towards Shimkoh. “Do you understand me?” Shimkoh nodded. “Are you a mute?” Shimkoh shook his head. “Why won’t you speak to me then?” Shimkoh thought for a second, trying to figure out how to explain the rules of his people. In the end, he decided to go with a simple shoulder shrug. “Huh. Seems like you could use a place to stay. Would you like to join me, at my carnival?” A carnival? That sounded exciting. Shimkoh had come for a purpose, but having just met one dragon, he wanted to meet more and find out more about this strange place. He nodded and followed the spiral to his carnival. Although he continued his search for the piece of zalic, he could not pull himself away from the dragons of Sornieth. They intrigued him.
