B I O G R A P H Y

Borealis brought a volunteer from the crowd, a nervous looking Nocturne. He had her stand in front of a colorful board, and placed an apple on her head. With the instructions of not to move, he went and took his place.

"Now, watch as I pin that apple to the board behind her!" Borealis announced, and the crowd gasped.

The Nocturne looked startled, but before she could think of moving, Borealis was twisting the knife between his glowing talons. With precision and accuracy, he threw the knife with force, and the crowd leaned forward in anticipation. Scared, the Nocturne closed her eyes, but opened them to cheers and saw that Borealis had hit the apple and not her.

Having come from a royal heritage, Borealis's personality is a bit high and mighty compared to the others of the circus. Borealis's father, Nightprowler, brought him to the circus when he was just a baby. Although his mother was against it, Nightprowler pointed out to her that they were going to send him away anyway, and went ahead with it. Venus accepted Borealis, introducing him to the others with the intent that they'd all get along. Little did they know how pompous and bratty Borealis would be. Complaints about the dark feathered heir were thrown around, but that didn't seem to stop him. He went on to bond particularly with Asita, and made an enemy out of Nameless.

Borealis has amazing precision, and because of this, he became the knife thrower. At first, he was reluctant to take part in circus activities, but with time he started to grow fond of his knife throwing tasks. His smaller than average size never stopped him though, and he caught on quickly to the ways of knife throwing. Borealis is highly proud of his skill, and he's constantly trying to gain Asita's attention and praise from it. With fluffed up feathers and his head held high, he struts through the circus area, following the land bound Skydancer around. Nameless, who's tired of Borealis flaunting his rank, often interrupts his time with Asita, and makes fun of his size. The two of them rarely ever get along, and disaster always seems to pursue them when they're together.

▸ Borealis: Ack! Cougar!

____Borealis tapped his claws against the ground, watching Asita from a distance. He could feel the weight of his knives on his vibrant cape, tempting him. With a little nod to himself, he made his way over to the blush pink she-dragon. Asita, who had been playing with her cat, turned her attention to him when she saw him walking over.

"Oh, hey, Borealis," Asita greeted kindly, her yellow eyes sparkling.

"Wanna see a trick?" Borealis asked in return, eager to please her.

Asita seemed to hesitate, but only for a second. She nodded, and Borealis excited reached back and grabbed one of his knives, unconsciously twisting and flipping it between his talons. With his other claw, he grabbed two others, and began juggling them. He ended by throwing them high and catching them.

"That was amazing!" Asita complimented, and Borealis beamed at her praise.

_C O U G A R_

____Quickly and as quietly as he could with his jingling garb, Borealis wound his way around the tents in search of Asita. He nearly gasped when he saw Cougar heading his way, stifling it before he could. Nervously, he came to a stop. His tail swished anxiously, much to his snake, Arbiter's, dismay. Cougar halted in front of him, his teal eyes unreadable.

"Borealis," Cougar greeted, his fluffy cat peeking out from behind his leg, "just who I was looking for."

"You were looking for me?" Borealis squeaked, cursing his own fear.

"Indeed, it's always . . . a pleasure to see you."

This answer made Borealis uneasy, and he could only offer a nod in response. Cougar seemed to notice his discomfort, because he smiled, announcing his leave before wandering father into the tents. Borealis breathed a sigh of relief, continuing his search for Asita, albeit shakily.
