━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You've seen it with your own eyes; you can't hurt me. Nothing can. This fight is pointless. Your struggle is pointless.
Gender: Male Origin: Aesir Occupation: Travels looking for a cure for his ailment, occasionally helps Odin during war times Titles: God of light, learning, and war Theme Song: x Baldur was once revered as a beautiful and kind god who was often mocked for the compassion he held for all gods and mortals alike. The Aesir and Odin, his father, always saw him as a bit of a joke. When his mother, Freya, robbed him of all sensation and made him immune to any injury, he descended into madness and became a spiteful, detached god, the way Odin prefers him. |

「 S T O R Y 」
Known throughout the realms as the deity of light, learning, and war. Baldur was born to the beautiful goddess Freya, and his arrival was accompanied by a prophetic dream that foretold his tragic fate. Disturbed by the vision of her son's death, Freya beseeched everything in creation to safeguard her beloved child from harm. Little did she know that her plea would become a double-edged sword, transforming her son's existence into an unfeeling void.
Baldur, once kind and radiant, became consumed by bitterness and hatred toward his mother. The curse that shielded him from pain, pleasure, and touch became an oppressive weight, driving him to resent the very source of his existence. The curse had turned him into a spiteful and cruel being, shrouding his once-beautiful nature in darkness. |
Freya's love for her son was boundless, but her decision not to seek protection from mistletoe, deeming it too young, would forever haunt them both. It unwittingly marked mistletoe as the sole vulnerability of Baldur, a fact unknown to him and all those around him, except for his mother.
The Aesir gods, feeling a twisted sense of amusement, took advantage of Baldur's invulnerability. They would mock him relentlessly, hurling objects at him, and even causing physical injuries. Yet, Baldur remained unaware, for he was immune to all wounds save those inflicted by the touch of mistletoe. The painless torment only fueled his hatred, further driving him toward madness. Despite his suffering, Baldur retained a semblance of loyalty to his father, Odin. The All-Father had promised to one day lift the curse, freeing Baldur from his torment. With unwavering faith, Baldur served Odin dutifully, carrying out his bidding in the hopes of redemption. However, doubt began to creep into his heart, questioning whether Odin truly possessed the power to undo the curse or if he was merely manipulating his son for his own gain. |
As time wore on, Baldur's desperate search for something that could make him feel again grew increasingly frenzied. He roamed the realms, relentlessly pursuing knowledge, hoping to stumble upon a solution that could lift the curse and grant him the ability to experience the world as others did. His pursuit took him to the furthest corners of existence, but each discovery proved futile, leaving him even more despondent.
The once-loved god of light had become a figure of fear and hatred. His relentless determination and ruthless methods in his quest for sensation had cast him in a dark light. The realms trembled in his presence, and whispers of his deeds haunted the halls of Asgard. Yet, deep within his tormented soul, Baldur yearned for release from the endless void that held him captive. |
