Morria
She maybe toxic, but she loves from afar.
She peeked from her small pool of disease infested filth. Her eyes like flowing blood glowed in the absence of light. Short claws scratched at the sides of the minimally sized bowl. Letting out a grunt her eyes examined her surroundings as she propped herself just far enough up to see over the edge of the nest. One swift move and she vaulted herself out of the enclosure where she had spent the better portion of her life. Quietly the pads of the small dragon’s feet glided over infected soil. Normally a young dragon like herself would be endangered by such toxins that seem to radiate from such a place, but not Morria. No, she was born into the plague. She is the plague. She outstretched her short autumn colored wings and flaped them gently casting away the ‘goop’, as she likes to call it, from the nesting pool.Off in the near distance the child spotted her mother as she returned from gathering. The large elegant dragon carried a portion of berries in her mouth to offer to her recently hatched child. Excitement overtook the little one, and she bolted towards her caregiver. Berries are not a commodity that is common in the infected areas…at least not the areas that Morria has seen. As she indulged herself in sweet taste of her favorite meal her mind wondered. “What are these, momma?”, with her head tilted she peeks up hoping for an answer, but the massive dragon had fallen asleep from exhaustion. After all it is a long flight from the Infected to find such a meal. The night slowly began to sink in, and the dragons short stubby legs carried her back over the ridge of the nest. There she sank back down into the ‘goop’ where her mind wondered to what exactly is beyond the disease filled lands.
