A B O U T
She was not one for coddling. Her upbringing had taught her that if anyone was to be coddled, it’d end only in tears and distress later in their life. She had made a point never to allow herself any coddling and it had been a good job for that for now she stood, a tall proud adult without the unfortunate attachments that many had formed over the years and an independence that even her mother was proud of. Her siblings were all weak, still suckling on the insect wings her parents brought back from time to time, whereas she could find her own meals and she did so without so much as a grumble. Her face was void of the gentle expressions her sisters so commonly showed and her body language gave away no obvious signs of weakness. Hating that her colors implied that she was sweeter than she was, she dressed in contrasting apparel, hiding away those cutesy vibes and replacing them with something she was certain made her look strong. She needed no-ones approval and those who pursued their lips at her blatant rebellion were shot down with an icy remark or a glare which could burn through the most steadfast rock. Her parents minded not her identity denial as they swore to love all their offspring without reservations or judgement and embraced her individuality, respecting her enough to keep their distance and let her have her freedom which annoyed her but at the same time comforted her, two people in the world who had her back and didn’t patronise her by trying to take care of her,
