Kotose often wanders the clan, a haunted look in their eyes and every step unsure. Not knowing where to go or what to do, born in poverty where they'd be lucky to eat a scrap of food a day. It's no wonder that they'd be envious of those dragons clad in beautiful apparel, flaunting wealth with every step. Their jaw clenched at every sight of expensive jewelry dripping from dragons who laughed as they carelessly waved unwanted dragons towards the deities. Sure, exaltation was meant to be an honor, but for them? It seemed as if those dragons were pushed aside, never to be seen again by their families or friends.

Koto hated those dragons who held no emotion for the 'unwanteds.'

And they wanted every dragon to be equal--no dragon should ever feel terrible like they did, to be starved to death because of poverty, not able to protest when they were pushed to serve a deity. They even grew to hate the deities above them. And they stole away from their birth clan at a young age, barely older than a hatchling, to exact their plans.

If dragons went missing, or suddenly were exalted, there might have been a telltale sanguine or brown feather in that dragon's lair. They just wanted everyone to be equal. But this was not the way to do it.

It's unclear how they were convinced to join the Diverse Waves. But they came in with their head low, ghosts in their eyes and following their every move. Nowadays, they keep to themself. Sometimes they smile and joke with the others, but their laugh feels hollow.

Will they ever be forgiven? Will they ever forgive themself?

Will they find someone who will make the sparkle in their eyes return?
