◈ CEPHEUS he/him | General of the Sentinels of Shadow History None know the whereabouts of Cepheus' parents. He was found as a defenseless young hatchling by a group of travelling mercenaries who had been passing through Bamboo Falls, crossing the border between the Windswept Plateau and the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The group, who called themselves the Shadowscales, took him in when they realized the combat potential he had as an Imperial. They raised him in their headquarters, located deep within the Tangled Wood, where he received strict training on combat skills. The harsh regimen shaped Cepheus into a fierce warrior - one whose abilities could put those of the other Shadowscales to shame. In time, the sellswords grew to fear him. Eventually, his talent, along with the claws of the other mercenaries, had been rented by Jupiter, who wanted their assistance in his rebellion. They were paid a large sum of gold to play the part of a family who had just moved into Clan Farin by day, and by night, to aid Jupiter's rebels. Their skills were especially useful in the battle that erupted when the conflict reached its peak - so much so that Jupiter praised them, particularly Cepheus, for being a key element in their survival. The mercenaries returned home shortly after, having been dismissed as the rebels began to wander in search of a new home, but Cepheus, who had taken a liking to the group's leader (Jupiter treated him with much more respect than others), tracked the travelling dragons down shortly after, abandoning his life as a mercenary to guard the group in exchange for a better life in the new clan. When Clan Apocrypha was founded, Jupiter stuck to his promise and selected Cepheus to be the General of the clan's knights. Personality Cepheus is stoic and quiet, rarely showing emotions except to those who aggravate him enough. Those dragons are met with his hushed, hateful wrath. That has made him feared by others, though with that fear comes a great respect for his power. He is rather regal, a trait others find in both his appearance and personality. His knights often compare his royal air to that of a deity. While they somewhat worship him, Cepheus, who is very much focused on his work, sees himself as a mere soldier who has been tasked with ensuring Apocrypha's protection - nothing more, nothing less. No matter what task he has completed, he will shrug it off as it simply being his duty. He is very careful and often prefers to consider all possibilities before choosing a course of action in any scenario. Cepheus is incredibly dedicated to Jupiter, who he is rather fond of. Out of everyone in the clan, he prizes loyalty the most. Occupation and Hobbies Cepheus currently serves as General of Clan Apocrypha's Sentinels of Shadow. His warriors receive incredibly harsh training that shapes them into powerful and formidable knights. He commands their complete loyalty and respect and, no matter how rowdy a Sentinel may be, they will carefully obey his every order. Cepheus is incredibly devoted to his work and his boss, Jupiter, whom he is fiercely loyal to; he puts both of them above all else in his life. In his free time, Cepheus rarely relaxes. He often spends hours training when off-duty, believing that he must strengthen himself further to better serve the clan. When he isn't fighting, Cepheus spends time reading and doing calligraphy. He has a collection of old weapons and armor that he polishes regularly. Among these pieces is an ancient armor from the Second Age, found in the ruins along with other weapons and armors. It was generously gifted to him by Jupiter, who kept the other discoveries for his research. |
