Rienda

The head doctor of the clan. Originally from a hatchery, she left Starfall Isles to pursue a career in dragon medicine. After getting her degree, though, there was the question of where to go work - newly graduates aren't usually given the best of jobs, especially a hyper-active Spiral specializing in mundane medicine instead of using the more common and efficient healing magic.

Luckily for her, she found a small group of dragons interested in opening a research center. The group was new enough that they hadn’t even moved from the ‘dig some stuff up’ part of building the facilities, so of course they lacked any kind of medical expert. Rienda decided to take a gamble then; she would help with funding, and in exchange, she'd get a position in the center.

It took some time, but the gamble paid off when Helix became big enough to move to the Wyrmwound. Rienda's experience and knowledge grew accordingly, until she became renowned as a dragon who didn't need to use magic to cure others. Still, she didn't leave Helix, deciding to stick with the group that had given her the chance to attain her dreams. Nowadays she not only heads the medicine department, but also takes frequent trips to the Mire to gather ingredients and help May with the training of recruits.

While this creation has an impressive stench, it is no more capable of surviving hot tar than other animals. It gets its name from the thick black mucus it produces.

Ann was brewed by Rienda herself with a slightly different recipe, granting her mucus some medical properties. Namely, the ability to be sterile and numb the area where its applied, making her an invaluable familiar for a non-magical dragon. The only downside is that after seeing Rienda making patients feel better with the goo, Ann got the idea that covering things in it was the solution to everything. Playtime with her always ends up with all parties involved urgently needing 2-3 showers.
