Jasmine Tickled Hyacinth Corpsemaker Ivy If you need a drop of poison, Venom’s the dragon to call. In a secret underground cavern (kept well hidden from Ferdinand), Venom grows poisonous fungi and a few species of shade-tolerating poisonous plants. Some of these plants create spores, which have latched onto his body and grown as a sort of mossy mat. He is also interested in dragon-eating plants, but as these are more difficult to maintain, he keeps that interest academic.

When his plants grow, he refines them into toxins, which he sells under-the-table through Aladdin and by mail order. Although somewhat dubious, and often associated with mercenaries, Venom also sells his toxins to potionmasters as rare ingredients, gardeners who wish to do away with pests, and healers who need a mild poison to kill a parasite.

This interest comes from his personal background. Venom lost his younger brother, Xii, while they were both in their birth clan. Venom was supposed to be taking care of his brother, but wandered away to look at some interesting plants. The Viridian Labyrinth is a very dangerous place, and when Venom returned, his brother was gone, and the snaking roots of a Strangler in his place. While recovering from his grief, he found out that Stranglers paralyze their prey with a mild sedative. To keep his brother’s memory alive, he developed a type of anaesthetic from Strangler venom, and dedicated his life to studying potential uses of poisonous plants. Since the Sunbeam Ruins supported academic study, he moved there, although makes frequent trips to the Viridian Labyrinth to collect new samples.
