Biography

Flamecaller Effigy subspecies

The effigies were activated as soon as the harpies entered their guard zone. While the survivors of the first fight retreated back, the effigies stood their ground, protecting their masters. The effigies didn't rest, didn't stop when a limb was missing; they kept on fighting. They were winning at this point until one harpy pulled off an effigies gem necklace. The effigy went stiff and deactivated. The news spread quickly of a way to beat these golem creatures and one by one gems flew off the defenders, leaving bodies stuck in mid movement. This was what the harpies needed and pushed forward to the middle line.

The harpies couldn't break the bodies of those whose gems were still intact. The harpies made sure to smash any that were found and pushed the bodies over, shattering them back into miniature gems. However there was one that still stood leaning down to the ground, one that had lost its gem and couldn't be found. The harpies grew bored of searching and left the body standing still in the deserted field. Without its gem it was nothing and if it could move it would know it let its charge down.

A small flamescale serith clan had set up near the forgotten battle zone and had started to spread out their territory slowly across the field. With each day they would get closer and closer to it but never see it. It was nearly a month after settling when one of them saw its head and called the alarm. Dozens of snake people slithered over to the signal and stood their guard as they approached. They were confused as to why the dragon didn't move or fight back as they poked it with their spears and soon after put weapons away. Murmurs spread across the seriths of what the stilled dragon was here for. They decided that this was out of their league and called for their archivist.

Opa loved exploring. With his clan moving around once more to finally settle, he was allowed to see the sights and examine anything he wanted. It was a dream come true to him. Sure his ancestors scrolls were fun to read and examine but actually going out was way more fun. He had heard of a terrifying event that had occurred in these lands between harpy and dragon but so far no evidence was left to be seen. He picked up rocks, watched bugs lazily hover in the air and wrote down everything he could. He was about to go back to his newly set up home when he saw a shine between a cravas. He immediately thought someone must've drop their jewels while moving and littered towards it. He carefully put his hand inbetween and pulled the shine out. What rested in his hands was a necklace; dirty but mostly still in tact. It didn't look like something a serith would make and it drew Opas mind back to the war. It had to be evidence. He carefully placed the necklace over his head and carried it back home to examine.

A armoured seriths stood at his doorway and called for him. Opa looked up from his scrolls and asked what was wrong but the guard insisted he saw himself. The two seriths slithered their way over to the still dragon and Opa was in awe. He had heard about Flamecaller effigies being guards to something important and this gave him even more evidence of a fight. He looked over the dragon and knew something was missing. In the scrolls it said that they needed a gem in order to activate but where was this ones? He went into thought as he twirled his necklace. Had he seen a gem anywhere? His brain snapped back to reality and pulled off his necklace. It had a gem and it wouldn't hurt to try. He approach its head and put the necklace around its neck. At first nothing happened, putting a seed of doubt in Opa, but after a couple of minutes the tail twitched and its head rose high into the sky. The guards immediately drew their weapons but Opa didn't move. The effigy took a step forwards and looked at Opa. Opa said a cheery hi to it and the effigy merely blinked. Opa asked what was doing here and it surprisingly smoothly told him about the war and its events. The effigy then asked a question: what happened to its charge? Opa told him he had no idea but only one dragon lived in the lands anymore. The effigy lowered some more and said it was a failure. Opa told it that it wasn't a failure as it still stood to live what was lost. It did rise a bit after hearing that but said it needed a charge to keep living. Opa without thinking said he could be its charge. The effigy questioned him, wanting to make sure it was fine by him. Opa did like the idea of a bodyguard and a companion so he said his final yes to it.

Opa and the newly named Elfie work together to keep each other alive. Since the land of fire is full of dangerous beast, having Elfie defend Opa has allowed more research to be discovered and land to be crossed. When Forge arrived back with Granith, Elfie wanted to kill Granith badly and had to be deactivated until some sort of peace was reached. Opa doesn't deactivate Elfie often and has been informed of the treaty. While not much tries to attack the seriths, if anything does Elfie will stop them; no one hurts her charge and gets away with it.
