Espoir was born pure white. However, it would be impossible to make that out now. As a hatchling, she adored her own precious plumage, but it started fading with each coming night, as if the moonlight was draining all the sheen from her body. The case remained unknown, but both Cure and Alchemist suggested it might be some rare mutation with Espoir's melanin being incredibly low at birth, and now adding up to normal mount, which means she genetically supposed to be dark-colored.
Sadly, this doesn't help her self-esteem, as she believes her purity was taken away because she didn't deserve it. A dreamer, she curses the moon and tries to hide at nights, 'preserving' her remained not-that-dark patches of skin, and basking in sunlight as much as possible. Espoir is quiet and somewhat shy, doing her best to not lose to crippling depression even during hardest days. She is positive her bright colors would return someday if she does her best to stay alive.
