ANNABEL
Warrior • Lost Soul
As a child, reckless adventuring with her twin sister, Adelaide, led to the two falling into a strange portal hidden deep within a cave. Transported to a strange dimension of shade and monsters, the two searched for a way out to no avail before finally realizing they'd have to learn to survive. Time blurred together as the two grew up in this Other place. They learned to survive, and then they learned to flourish; going from hiding from strange demons to being the thing they hid from. As they grew more powerful and searched for a way to open a portal out, their bodies changed as well, their very core tainted by the place they were in. Able to crystallize blood and wield it as a weapon, her wounds also crystallize over and heal as her body regenerates. Along with this, in the real world her very being absorbs magic around her, sometimes even enough to make magic use difficult for others. When they finally managed to open a portal back out, Annabel was transported to random place in Sorneith, without Adelaide. Though an eternity had passed in the Other place, it seemed as if everything was the same in the real world. Upon first arriving back, she immediately sets off for a source of civilization. She does so alone, not knowing if the only person she'd known for eternity is even still alive whilst she tries to cope with what happened to them and re-adjust. When Annabel arrived from the Other Place to the Windswept Plateau, she felt disoriented and slightly out of touch with Sornieth, having spent what felt like an eternity in the Other place. She remembered something amidst the confusion of arriving; her sister. She quickly flew towards some dirigibles she spotted in the distance, hoping to find a clue to wherever her sister was. However, no matter how much she For a long time, she searched every place she could go to, every territory, every clan, sometimes temporarily staying in clans to get whatever she needed. On her journey to find her sister, she befriended a Crowned Roc after saving it as an egg from a long drop, naming it Zephyr. Since finding the egg she continued her search for her sister, sometimes riding on Zephyr (after it fully grew up) when she gets tired. She started painting portraits of her sister and plastering them to every place she went to in hopes that her sister could find them. For many moons she continued her search, though with each passing moon she starts to lose a tiny glimmer of hope that her sister is still alive. Weary and losing hope, Annabel arrived at the Scarred Wasteland in hopes that her sister, Adelaide, had travelled to either their home land, Dragonhome, or a neighboring domain. However, while she was attempting to traverse the Abiding Boneyard, she passed out from a lack of clean water and edible food. When she finally woke up - in which a day had passed since she passed out - she found herself in a cavernous room, accompanied by a shining, green Spiral dragon. Jade, the green Spiral, quickly gave Annabel food - a mix of insects and plants - and water and, before Annabel had even picked up the food, began explaining what happened. Some of the dragons from Jade's clan were patrolling the Wasteland for food when they came across the blacked out body of Annabel. They took her to their clan - The Clan of the Abyss - as fast as possible, as they feared she would die. For the rest of the time she was out of it, Jade had taken care of her. When Annabel had told her life story to Jade, Jade said to Annabel that she'd be back quickly. Jade then darted out of the room to some unknown section of the cave. Just as quickly, she came back, her face lit up. A few seconds passed, and a dark red and black Mirror poked her head into the room, then walked in. Carminite, the leader of the clan, briefly bowed her head to Annabel, then introduced herself. She then told Annabel that although the clan had not heard her sister's name before, they would be willing to keep an eye out for Adelaide, along with providing a home for Annabel for as long as she wished. Annabel accepted the offer and thanked Carminite for her hospitality and assistance. Annabel lived in one of the many caverns of the Clan of the Abyss, and although she did call it her current home, she often wandered, searching for her sister in the Scarred Wasteland. Although she was unable to find her sister, some of the older dragons in the Wasteland told her that they had seen her a long time ago. Now, Annabel knew that her sister came out of the Other World alive, and it's only a matter of seeing if she survived the Wasteland and finding where she resided.
