Hematoma: the clan's official bad influence, a full body problem

Hema is gross, very violent, unnervingly smart, and more than a little lewd. his voice sounds like someone breaking a bottle in a barfight. He rarely uses magic for anything but the stupidest and most questionable of things. Need to fight an enemy 3 times your size? Just try to bite 'em I guess! I don't know! Need to scratch your butthole? Break a branch off a tree and whittle it into a perfect replica of your own claw with your mind so you can really get in there! Get right in there with that enchanted branch made of pure wonder.

He's a champion.

He's almost constantly wounded in some way.

Hes the worst.

He's also great with kids and is a pro at accepting totally weird, messed up phenomena in his daily life with amazing calm. This makes him pretty good at socializing dragons who need it and making friends in disastrous situations. If the sky is falling, he's the one planning a block party.

He is very loyal to Asima and they are weirdly close in the way that their very existence is a strange shared experience that neither one completely believes. In the beginning, when she still wasn't quite sure if she was real and he was still struggling with the concept of self preservation, they pretty much kept each other alive.

Their current relationship may seem strange to outsiders. Asima tends to treat him with utmost respect and like a very annoying guard dog at the same time. Hema thinks she is the most perfect creature in the world and shows this by finding new and more creative ways to make her want to smack him into space. They have weird inside jokes and strange shared habits and he's basically a second father to her children. They get clingy after life threatening situations and they nap together after returning from the coliseum. He thinks that she's hot and he is not shy about saying it. She has no comment on him. They would kill for each other.

They're something a little more serious than best friends.

They're very much not mates.

Mostly because at the end of the day, he has a personality like the back of a dirty cab and she has a dire attraction to sparkles.

Which is actually cool with him because he really likes Amethyst and they're almost as close as he and Asima. Together they keep the clan emotionally balanced and serve as distractions for each other so Asima can get her dang work done without Hema telling her about a cool new horrible wound he got or Ame trying to convince her to 'socialize' and 'be a person'. She's a busy lady. She has a clan to run and dark magics to unlock.

Hema's favorite thing is lounging on Ame while he reads. The telepathic runoff soothes him even after the roughest days. Amethyst finds him hilarious and strangely adorable for a gross little gremlin lizard.

He's friends, or at least 'not enemies' with most of the clan, and they respect him even though quite a few of them have uttered horrified gasps about something he said or did or was at one point.

He's the problematic fave of the Starfall Isles.
