~The Refugee~
When the emperor first swept across the Sunbeam Ruins, it left a swath of destruction in its wake. Many dragons were left amidst the destruction, battered, bruised, and homeless. One of those dragons was a tiny newborn coatl hatchling, found wandering dazed and alone through the wreckage. The dragons who rescued her named her Nixie. Attempts where made to find her family, but when they turned up nothing, her parents were assumed to have perished by the Emperor's jaws.
In an effort to save as many dragons as possible, the light flight began to send orphan and lost hatchlings to ally clans outside the Ruins. Sililuuth was on a mail run when she happened upon one of the rescuers' camps, and she agreed to take Nixie back to Clan Phantom until Nixie's family could be located. When Nixie arrived at Clan Phantom, Vaeviar took the tiny coatl under her wing and began to nurse her back to health. Nixie improved rapidly, but Daen noticed early on that her hearing was irreparably damaged. Nixie wasn't completely deaf, but she had trouble hearing. Luckily for her, Vaeviar and her two adopted sons already knew sign language, so Nixie quickly learned to sign with her new family.
Nixie is a quiet hatchling, preferring to play with toy and nap in the sun rather than run wild about the lair. She also enjoys conversing with her family, and Keegan is teaching her fae frill-speak to further compensate for her poor hearing. Nixie has a fascination with Daen and his healing magics, and he has begun to train her as an aid to him and Acara.
