Adventurer "It's in their hands now, not mine... This decision belongs to them." Mani (also known by his fellow adventurers as “Mani the Double”) is a young adult Pearlcatcher with much to learn. Harboring an impressive braided mane with blades at the ends and pierced ears - longer than normal for those of his kind - he could be charming if only he knew how to behave in social situations. He can often be seen with spiders, with who he has an affinity and strange kinship; he always keeps a few on him, the arachnids hiding in his braids or crawling on his arms and chest. He even gave a name to a few of them, treating them like his equals. Antisocial and a thief, he is not very well liked by the rest of the Pack; as it is, his social skills are next to zero, and no one knows anything about him or his past – except, maybe, his two friends, Shin and Balthazar. His gaze, unblinking and distant, is always analyzing his surroundings – which comes with being an adventurer and running into danger all the time. As for his stealing abilities, he is actually very good at searching through people’s belongings (even if said belongings are on them at the very moment of the theft) and with an impressive sleight of hand, he can access anyone’s hidden pockets or closed bag in an instant, before leaving the scene unnoticed. He has an eye for gems, treasure and any kind of shiny trinket, and will put himself or others in danger if it can give him what he desires. This also applies to other situations, such as helping someone he likes – something rare – or achieving his goals; he will not hesitate to sacrifice everything – and everyone – to get what he wants. Mani is the only one to truly know everything about his past. Brought up as a hatchling in a mystical and vague organization known as the Meta-lignee, and raised by a cruel and twisted mentor, it has shaped him into the scarred dragon he is now. He was pushed over the edge again and again by Fineas, his teacher (or “master”, as Mani sarcastically calls him), and he was taught to build a wall around himself and to never mentally break, no matter how hard things were. This psychological abuse and trauma made him distant and cold, and socially broken; he cannot act normally among other dragons or understand their signals, instead preferring the company of his spiders or familiars. The Pearlcatcher left the Meta-lignee as he became an adult, and decided to become an adventurer to run away from his past – though he holds a life-long lasting grudge against his old mentor for everything he made him endure. Should their paths cross again, no one can tell what would happen. Mani possesses the power of telekinesis, and can use his mental prowess to activate four sharp blades – using them as a shield against attacks or weapons to hurt others. They never leave his side, and when not used, they are kept under his cloak. He can also use this power to move objects around, though not on a long distance, as he is far from being the best at this art. As he exerts his power, his braided mane can be seen floating around his head, as if animated with life. Mani’s only friends are those with who he has been adventuring for years : Shin the half-water elementary and Balthazar, a fire mage. They are the only ones he cares about, and he would be ready to sacrifice everything for them. They are nowadays often separated due to their personal quests - but when together again, Mani won’t refrain from showing them a bit of affection, at least, as much as he possibly can with his social issues (which means not a lot, but sometimes, a smile or a touch can mean more than anything else).
