Seraph is determined, studious, outgoing, and honest. He enjoys reading, music, and astronomy, and he detests loud and disruptive noises or dragons. Seraph has writing and music talents, and he frequently plays music and occasionally composes his own.

Seraph's father was exalted when he was a hatchling, and his mother wanted to take care of him but did not really have the means to. As soon as he was old enough, he became a traveling bard and minstrel. One day Serendipity went to one of his performances in a tavern and they talked. He told her that he didn't have a place to live so she informed him about this clan, which at the time was small and not yet named the Clan of Stars and Crystals. Seraph enjoyed his job and he didn't want to settle down at the time, but he considered her offer. He realized that he longed for a clan and decided he could continue performing even if he joined one.

Seraph's friends are Serendipity, Artemis, Stardust, and Flamekeeper. His mate is Artemis. She arrived in the clan before he did, and he tried to befriend the aloof Pearlcatcher. They fell in love after some time and live happily. Seraph's music can be heard throughout the clan on some days while he practices or performs for his friends and family, but he is still a minstrel who visits other clans to spread his music.
