Avni is the founder of the Everglade Haven, and resides there permanently. She used to live in the Windswept Plateau, but after her clan was struck by a devastating illness, killing all but her, she couldn't bear to stay. After reaching the Viridian Labyrinth, Avni came across an abandoned egg, which she of course rescued. This act gave her the idea to make her own clan, rather than find an existing one. This clan would be home to anyone who needed it. Dragons could come from all over Sornieth to stay at the Haven, whether for a short period or as a permanent home. Avni looks after them all, and is always going out of her way to make their stay as comfortable as possible, but she is particularly fond of watching over the hatchlings.

Neri
Neri and Avni hit it off from the moment they met. Neri had always made her place in the clan's nursery, entertaining the hatchlings and helping care for them and the eggs, and so was one of the first individuals Avni met. When Avni grew older and left the nursery, Neri went with her and the two have been inseparable ever since. She never gave up her role in the nursery, however, but rather gained a companion there as Avni found her place as a nursery caregiver as well.
