"It's difficult to live up to a name... but I believe it's possible."
Quiet, steadfast, and shockingly ferocious for a Tundra, Gaoler more than lives up to the name his parents bestowed on him as an Ice dragon. He is an odd pair with the more temperamental Joan, especially with his preference to listen rather than speak, but there is little doubt that he loves his mate with every ounce of his soul.
Despite his battle-readiness, Gaoler shows a soft side to hatchlings, as well as his mate. His familiar is more often than not found nestled in his mane, poking her head out to surprise young'uns and to affectionately nibble at her dragon's horns. This dichotomy is a good joke inside the clan, though few are brave enough to have a chuckle in Gaoler's presence due to his stoic demeanor.
Having travelled far and wide beside Joan, Gaoler has seen much, fought much, and is tested and confident in his abilities. He has spent most of his time travelling as Joan's protector, and ensuring his more trigger-happy mate keeps out of fights, or only picks ones that they can win together.
Despite his past as a fighter, Gaoler is more often than not seen sitting side by side with Joan, listening to her sing and sporting a small, calm smile as the young and old crowd about to hear her voice. There's little doubt that his pride rests solely for his mate, and he is both happy and content to protect her, and their nest, for the rest of their days within the Frozen Stone clan.
