Chantho crawled into a giant metal carapace one day and didn't seem inclined to climb out.

Considered a harmless oddity by all, he took no sides during the War of Ascension. Lye approached him near the war's end, requesting his assistance in trapping her enemies. Chantho gave up his carapace and refitted it to be a prison for Sosiilah. With the protection of the force Lye had gathered behind her, his fear of the world seemed to diminish.

He traveled with the masses during the pilgrimage, and rarely leaves the main camps the clan began to established. Though his inventions are often used during their mercenary contracts, he himself never ventures into battle.

He has developed an interest in Nusaaniilah, as her academic mind mirrors his own. His part in the imprisonment of her father keeps him from approaching her.
