Diamond

Diamond is a scientifically-minded dragon who has worked tirelessly to understand the laws of physics and time. He was once quite an intolerant dragon, beating down theories he thought of as 'too sentimental'. This all changed when he met a young dragon named Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver was attending one of his seminars, when the calm dragoness explained that she had the ability to walk in dreams. Diamond of course scoffed at this, and Dreamweaver did not protest, only politely tell him that she would prove it to him.

That night, Diamond had a dream. The strange lavender dragoness appeared to him. She told him many things; about her family, her familiar, her favourite books. When Diamond awoke, he found Dreamweaver at his class again. She repeated everything she had said in the dream, to the word. Diamond, speechless, was determined to understand her ability. They spent a great deal of time together, Diamond quizzing her as they pursued their own fields. Dreamweaver was the first dragon who had stood up to Diamond, cooly rebuffing him when she thought he was wrong. They soon became warmer to each other, and developed a sort of friendly rivalry.

Over time, Diamond's views began to soften, and he became more open to the theories of others, instead of believing only his had merit. Dreamweaver still visited his dreams, one day confessing that she was in love with him, but found she couldn't say it in the waking world. In the morning, Diamond sought her out and presented her with an amethyst necklace, saying she had changed his life and he was the happiest he had ever been with her.

While the two mates are often apart due to their livelihoods, they still share their dreams.
