a delicate puppet on plague-woven strings...
DELWEN "They read your smiles as nothing but teeth; looked at you with pity first, then disbelief." ....................................................

Let me put myself in your shoes as a puppet loosely strung.
Where it came from, how it's here... questions forever unanswered. Delwin, made of porcelain and rot, is beautiful. Gentle glass eyes, painted to a photo-realistic copy of a devout follower of Light. The sinew strings holding their joints together perfectly preserved. The dusty dried flowers draped across flightless wings organized into sweet little bouquets as if by the careful, shaky hands of a grandmother. The air around it is perfumed by them, reminiscent of a funeral.
We get drunk or high to feel what you've felt since you've been born.
The scent of those dried flowers does nothing to stifle the pervasive scent of the golem's rot. It betrays its origins as not of Light, but of Plague. Too perfect. Its voice is soft and disarming. Perfectly shaped lips and delicately trimmed beard, painted horns and claws. Everything about how it looks speaks of delicacy... except that smell. A kill even vultures won't touch.
They might fear that one day they'll wear your shoes,
Its confidence speaks volumes. It will not be wavered. It is as immovable as it is delicate. Its words are as unwavering and as unyielding as death itself. As such, it acts as ambassador to other clans from The Archive. It arrives, announces the intentions of Awyn, the Stellar, and listens to the response. It does not debate. It does not falter. You will be aware of its message.
But you're the one who's laughing, you had nothing to lose
Outside of its duties it reads prose, it enjoys music, it will listen to your complaints, it will offer you a flower dried up in its touch. The little smile on its face is not false. The kindness in its glass eyes is really there. That, above all else, is its truth. Its origin means nothing; it lives its truth now and that truth alone.
