Calathea was born in nature to her nature born mother and wind born father, both Coatls like herself. She was the most beautiful in her clan and was cherished by all members. She was constantly approached by males asking for her attention, her affection, and her approval. It went to her head, quickly. She subconsciously put herself up on a pedestal and denied all who approached her.

She found she had a talent for growing beautiful flowers, and as she matured, she made a small flower shop where she would sell wonderful flowers, for a very high price. Business was average, and for a time, she enjoyed her status until she realized her flowers were dying on the shelves and her shop was quiet with silence. Her customers were less and less each season. That was when she heard about the Spiral who was delivering flowers from a Wild Claw Merchant that lived on a flower field.

Angry that her customers were being stolen away, she left her shop seeking this Wild Claw and his flower field. Days of travel brought her to Glen Vale's territory, and for the first time, she felt something stir in her chest. Love? Lust? Envy? He was beautiful, standing on the highest hill of his flower field. He was strong and healthy, proud and stoic.

He would be hers. And if not, his flower field, his family, and his business would bow down to her instead.
