Haldana

Clan Role:
The tiniest metal worker


Haldana is the clan's go-to for anything metal and intricate. While he doesn't handle "big" jobs, such as forging large armor or heavy machinery pieces, he's the best in the clan at the fine-detail stuff. That heirloom pocket watch from your granddragon stopped working? He'll find out what makes it tick! Did one of the itty-bitty delicate components in your machine break? Mr. Roboto will be saying doumo arigatou in no time! Need a wiring job done? He'll diffuse the situation before you can say "spark!"

Bastien provides him with a lot of business, since Bastien is the clan's magitech mechanic and is frequently in need of replacement parts for broken equipment. His skills cover more than just parts and repairs, however. He also receives commissions for intricate metal jewelry, figurines, miniatures, and the like. His favorite things to work on are anything with lots of little gears inside; aesthetic aside, he also appreciates the challenge of taking scraps of metal and trying to make it move. The miniatures are a close second. The piece that he's most proud of is a work of his that hangs in his lair - a beautiful blue, gold, copper, and silver clock that depicts the movements of the moon, sun, and major constellations.

While he does have a happy life, it is still fraught with difficulty and challenge on an almost daily basis. Most of this comes from the fact that he is a tiny fae trying to run a lively business - a business which involves boxes of materials too heavy to lift being delivered to his lair, commissions where the individual components are small and manageable but the final product is too big to handle, any number of problems that arise from being small. His mate, Euram, is a big help to him with all such issues. She is usually the one receiving materials, sorting it into small piles or little boxes that Haldana can manage easily, and delivering commissions on his behalf. Being this dependent on someone else for simple things can make Haldana feel irritable with himself, but Euram tries to remind him that most dragons depend on others for their lifestyle.

When not working in his workshop, Haldana is usually off insect catching with Euram or reading craft magazines. Rumor has it that he's working on miniature golems to serve as smaller-than-fae-sized familiars, but that could also be the result of an errant spell causing a miniature flameforger statue to dance around in the garden.

Insect

Often mistaken for small boulders, most dragons overlook the Darkwood Titan as a food source. Manage to bring one home, however, and you may feed a nest of hatchlings for days.
