Clan Role
Clan Founder
Although Caesin is not the clan leader, he is recognized as the founder of the Three Moons clan and its growing lair. He cites his youth and his laid-back nature as reasons for passing the burden of leadership onto Moon. Cass, his mate, will jokingly add another reason, however: Caesin does not handle disgruntled lair-mates well. He prefers a quiet life and clan leadership is anything but. So, he gladly passed on the duties to a dragon he felt could better manage the day to day of lair life. At Cass’s insistence, Caesin begrudgingly kept the title of clan founder, but is quick to remind other dragons that he does not take the position seriously

Caesin spends his days prowling the lair grounds, ever vigilant and cautious. He feels it is his duty, as a Guardian dragon, to keep a watchful eye on Cass and the new hatchlings. Other dragons will say he is quiet and reserved when he is on sentry duty, but once he feels content with his day’s contributions, he can be found napping in the shade of the clan's central willow tree. As he sits beneath this tree, gentle breezes filling his lungs, branches lapping at his outstretched wings, he is reminded of his first home in the Nature flight. His memories do not make him homesick, but rather, Caesin is reminded of all the good that the Lightweaver has bestowed upon him in his new home. Beneath this tree, Caesin can sigh, accepting his pleasant fate, and drift peacefully off to sleep-with one eye open, of course.

Lore
The founder of the Three Moons Lair did not always call the Lightweaver’s domain his home. Casein was “gifted” to his former clan, or, that was how they referred to his arrival in the Nature-aligned lair. The clan leader saw his jewel-clad markings and impeccable phenotype as a sign that Caesin was sent from the Gladekeeper to someday lead the clan into a new era of prosperity. Even as a young dragon, Caesin knew this idea to be preposterous. He had no intentions of ever leading any clan, and he had no desire for material wealth. Still, his caregivers insisted and expected nothing but perfection from Caesin. As he came of age, Caesin began to feel a profound longing to be somewhere-anywhere-else as long as it meant being away from the clan that raised him. He had no words to describe the penetrating desire, he only knew he could not be what the clan expected of him. Fearing Caesin would leave if told of The Search and of his species’ instinctual migration tendencies, they hid all stories and history of The Search from him. Instead, they thought they could train the instinct and obstinance out of him. When long and brutal training did not produce the desired outcomes, the clan leader resorted to threats and shaming to try and bring Caesin under his control. And so, when Caesin could control his urges no longer, he fled. In the dead of night, he took to the dense woods surrounding the liar carrying nothing but his will to live free of the clan’s unreasonable expectations.

Caesin was not well suited to forest life. His glimmering gold body offered no camouflage and although he was not spoiled by any means, he never had to provide for himself until this moment. His hunting skills were lacking, and his abilities to go unnoticed by passersby, were even more dismal. He attempted to cover himself in forest litter-fallen leaves, vines, the like-but with little success. In his frustration, Caesin would often call out, a blood-curdling roar that would shake the surrounding trees, until his lungs ached. What was he doing here? Why couldn’t he find what he was looking for? WHAT was he looking for? When the opportunity presented itself, Caesin would attempt to ease his frustrations by accepting the company from female dragons passing through the area. Was he proud of his actions? Certainly not. But as he traveled aimlessly through the thick forest, he felt that any companionship was better than none.

It was not until Caesin neared the edge of the Nature region that he met Prongs, a gifted nature spirit who saw fit to teach Caesin how to better survive on his own. Though, Caesin would not be alone for long as the two became fast friends. The stag regaled to him the old stories of The Search and the indominable spirit of the Guardian dragon line. Relief is what Caesin called it. A weight he had been carrying longer than he could recall was being lifted with a simple name-The Search. All he required to keep going was the knowledge that his instincts had purpose. Now that he could put a name to his search, he knew he would accomplish what he fled his old lair to do. He would find his charge. He would find peace.

Prongs stayed with Caesin as they crossed out of the Nature region and into the Lightweaver’s territory. Prongs would occasionally joke that Caesin’s colors were much better suited for this region, and though the good-natured ribbing sometimes left him rolling his eyes, Caesin felt Prongs was right. He enjoyed the bright sun warming his gleaming scales, the breeze rustling the drying grass beneath his feet, and the wide-open expanses cluttered with falling and dismantled ruins. It was here, among these collapsed relics, that Caesin met the end of his search. Huddled below the dancing branches of a willow tree, sat a young humanoid girl, desperately trying to stay warm as the sun lowered beyond the horizon. She was startled by Caesin’s mass as he approached, but feeling no immediate threat, she soon settled and introduced herself as Estrix, though Caesin would later have to ask for her name again, as his ears were ringing and his heart thudding out of his chest the first time she said it. It was immediate, and unexpected, but it was not love. No, someday it would grow to be something of familial love, but never romantic. Rather, Caesin knew in that instant that Estrix was to be his charge. She was not feeble, far from it in fact, but rare as humanoids were in Soreinth, Caesin felt it very appropriate that he look after her, to preserve the precious life that hid under that willow tree.

With Estrix and Prongs by his side, Caesin made his lair near the willow tree that lightly shielded his dear charge until he reached her, and as he welcomed other weary traveling dragons into his home, his new family grew to an impressive and formidable clan. He soon met his mate, Cassiopeia, a representative for the Lightweaver and who passed no judgment on his past transgressions, and at her insistence, Caesin allowed his new clan to recognize him as their founder. He lives a simpler life with his family, and often rests beneath his willow tree, content to sleep and dream of his blessings-with one eye open, of course.

Exalting Caesin to the service of the Lightweaver will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
