Aeus

Religious Affiliation: God of Temple of Fire | Title:
| Mate: Battleshade
This battle had been an easy one, within the hour we had pushed back nearly the entirety of the harpy forces from their own base. Most had been killed, some fled, only a few loyal harpy soldiers remained but even they were now weak and nearing their end. I cast one more incantation, sending another poor beast to its death before my interest turned instead to the harpy base itself.

Their supplies had been pretty much destroyed already and the contents of several boxes and crates littered the ground, blood stained and broken. There was no hope for finding anything useful there. My eyes turned elsewhere, the homes of the harpies were small and shabby, I doubted that they held anything of value either. These were harpies after all, They didn't value treasure like use dragons did. They had no taste for shiny things.

Again my eyes wandered, searching for something to investigate while the battle still roared on around me. I glimpsed what looked to be a cave entrance supported by beams. Harpies had mines? I had been under the impression that they were not smart enough for that. There seemed to be a strange orange glow emanating from the entrance. Now that was interesting. I looked around at my fellow dragons, they were picking off the last few of the beasts, I was sure they would be fine if I left for a moment.

The mines had peaked my interest and so I headed towards them, easily crossing the distance in no time at all. I snaked my head around the corner to look inside but was shocked at what I saw.

A small red dragonet, no older than a few months was trapped in what looked to be an odd stone cage. He was snarling and biting at the bars angrily, smoke and sparks emerging from his mouth. Something had obviously rubbed his scales the wrong way.

Why would harpies have a caged dragonet? I reached my talon up to the side of the cage in an attempt to calm him.

‘’Shhh little one”

There was no indication that he understood my words and it only seemed to make him angrier. He sank his tiny teeth into my talon and immediately I felt a red hot burning sensation, hot as a full grown dragon’s fire and I yelped in alarm, drawing my hand back to look at it. It was bleeding and burned where he had bit me.

“You’re a fiesty one huh?”

He glared at me for a moment, perhaps taking a breather and flew back into his rage. It was then that I realized that everything flammable had been moved at least 10 feet from his cage and I made the connection.

“A little fire scales are you? What a surprize, Iv’e never met one in person.”

Again, he gave no indication that he understood. I sighed.

“What are we gonna do with you?”
