"Astrologist"

B I O G R A P H Y

"Has an obsession about stars so much that sometimes she rolls on glitter dust when no one is around."

Night was born with stars in her eyes and the planets engraved within her mind. Destined to be the outcast. At a young age, she devoured all the scrolls she could about space. She couldn’t place just exactly what she adored about it; perhaps it was that each star played a special role. Nobody was ignored or taunted, like her.
One scroll read like this:
Once upon a time, there was a dragon who dreamt of reaching the sky.
“Just like me,” Night murmured, eyes glued eagerly to the text.
Her clan protested against her aspirations, telling her not to try. But in secret, she constructed an arrow, long and wide. As she climbed onto it, her eyes fluttered shut, leaking tears of joy and pride. She flew so far her clan could no longer see. And at last she was free.

B I O G R A P H Y

The fairytale captured her mind and sustained her, even when the other dragons mocked her. She remained resolute. She would be the dragon in the story.
During the last night of a meteor shower, she was hunched over her parchment, trying to calculate when the last meteor would fall. “It should be...now!” she exclaimed. Closing her eyes, she wished upon it, asking, “Grant me my wish, please, to fly to the very stars.”
When she matured, Night set off, finding herself accepted into a Shadow clan, where she appointed herself astrologist. She never stopped trying to get to the heavens, building numerous contraptions. But each one failed. The clan marveled at her seemingly endless reserves of patience, but in reality, the only way Night stopped herself from going absolutely insane was fantasizing about what would happen when she succeeded.
She would fly higher and higher, until she would be just one of the stars, accepted for once.

"She rolls in glitter when no one is around." Night is gorgeous. I can understand that love for space. I wasn't really an outcast for that love as I had a few friends with similar interest but, if i had thought about rolling in glitter earlier, I would have definitely attempted it.
