Moonlight is one of the children of the Emperor and Empress of Sunset. She comes from a long line of royal Imperial dragons. Since she was just a hatchling, she was used to pampering and comfort. She found that she had magic, and her parents feared that, and drove her out. Moonlight lived by herself for months, scared and weak, unable to find anyone she knew. Then, one night, she found this clan.

Firemoon, the progenitor of the clan and leader at the time, welcomed her warmly. However, Moonlight was wary of the clan members, and did not want to show her magic for fear of getting banished. She did not know that this clan is welcoming to magic-wielders. She wanted revenge on her parents, but knew she wouldn't get any. She met a Skydancer named Xeno, who was kind and caring to her, and they fell in love. The peace and happiness did not last long. She found that he was a mercenary and was hiding it from everyone in the clan. When Xeno discovered that she knew his secret, he panicked and tried to kill her. Suddenly her visceral magic exploded, wounding both of them and destroying many of their belongings. Moonlight feared hurting everyone she loved with her magic, and hid in a secluded cave in the clan lair, refusing to speak to any members, hunting her own food, suppressing her powers. She knew she had to learn to control her magic, but there was no one to teach her.

Selene, a Skydancer sorceress, arrived in the clan. She had once feared hurting dragons with her magic, but learned to control it. Selene taught Moonlight to master her sorcery. Moonlight moved out of the secluded cave and created the planet and star shapes floating around her to remind her of the hardships she went through and conquered.
