Revel, also commonly known as 'the Reverse Demon', is usually listed by demonologists on the same 'tier' as the Ra-demons. That is, he is a commonly attempted summon & a being that is generally willing to make deals with summoners in exchange for being able to roam free on Sornieth for some hours.

His nickname, Reverse Demon, comes from the fact that everything related to summoning him must be done in reverse. Where for some other demons the process would be to draw a summoning circle first, then powered, and finally incantations spoken, all of these steps are backwards for Revel's ceremony. Thus the greatest difficulty for would-be summoners usually lies in containing power, which would usually be immediately absorbed into the summoning circle, and keeping it around long enough for the circle to be drawn in the final step. The incantation, likewise, must also be clearly enunciated backwards. As is common in the realm of demons, failing to do so summons another entity entirely, one that masquerades as Revel only long enough to make the summoners regret their mistake.

Despite the hassle, Revel is popular as a summon because he is well-known for being a demon of wisdom. He may fly upside-down, appear in colored scales inverted to his true form, and speak all languages in reverse, but the words he does say are all truths. He himself does not deceive or lie; if he does not know the answer to the question one has sought him for, he will even admit so outright. The only catch is the obvious one: Revel will only answer so many questions, less than a handful, before he demands his time to roam.
