History

Samantha doesn't remember hatching, however she was always alone, at first anyways. The earliest memories she has are the gray dust, the charred cracks on the earth, and the harsh reality of life on the Charred Barrens. Being a Fae, Samantha was small and therefore a target, but through luck, perseverance, and using her quick wit she quickly made her way into surviving the unforgivable lands. She was a scavenger and a skirmisher, but maintained an air of grace and beauty. When Sam was in her teenage years, she began to have some followers, other young dragons that both fought alongside and were enamored by Sam. Garbo was the first, being one of the few dragons able to keep up with Sam's quick wit and maneuverability. She certainly didn't welcome his presence, however it became a homely one. Eridani was next, a massive Imperial who had been a sole survivor of his mercenary gang. The three wrecked havoc stealing, hunting, and camping down the barrens and canyon. Many months brought the three very close together, and they came up with a plan to start their own clan, where wanderers can find a foothold and become part of something greater, and the weak can become stronger. Together with Garbo's silver tongue, Samantha's speed and quick thinking, and Eridani's shear strength, they found their way into having their own territory, a nice secluded area between the Charred Barrens and the Wired Walks.

Once the land was secured, Samantha quickly realized that the other two did not have the skills needed to start or run a clan. There was no knowledge of their neighbors, no relations with other dragons in the area, nothing to barter or offer to others. So naturally Samantha went to work, lugging the other two with her. Eridani was relatively easy going, wanting to relax and bask in what they had accomplished so far, though he did occasionally help with a fair bit of the manual labor. Garbo however was a bit of a different story. Constantly goofing off and playing pranks, he was more of a hinderance than anything. Samantha resorted to her old ways, taking what she needed by any means necessary, and was excellent at not getting seen or caught. She would observe the beast clans in the area, sneak into their lands, access their assets, and take note of anything else of importance. They did happen to accrue other dragons, Cecil and Empyrea, who were pacifist priests of sorts, Umbra and Greta, a fighting duo, Lacana an expert with plants and animals, and Tango, a wares maker, and seller, to name some of the first. Eventually through constant diligence Samantha had the start to a working economy. With mercenary services, beautiful wares, and tamed mounts and familiars with potions and herbs, they found a foothold and started drawing in more and more dragons. Sam's work was never done however, she couldn't do it all herself. She ended up making a council, a leader of sorts for each vital part of her clan. Eridani was in charge of civilians and infrastructure, Garbo over economy, taxation, and money, Greta became the militia leader, Cecil the leader of religion and elements, and [WIP] over agriculture and sciences. While all of them had a say, Samantha had the final word for everything, keeping each group in check.

Personality // Samantha is a generally snappy and short fused fae. As the Queen and Leader of the Clan, she obviously has a lot to do and she manages it like a well oiled machine, everything in its place doing its job. When lollygagging starts becoming apparent in vital positions Samantha is the first to notice and to straighten any of the unfortunate dragons who happen to be messing around. Despite being a fae, Samantha is impeccable at reading other dragons and she doesn't like dragons who try to flatter her or beat around the bush, which makes talking to her a pretty stressful and intimidating task. With that trait however, she's rarely swayed by outside forces and anything she does is for the better of her Clan. Samantha rarely has any free time, but when she does she can be found either speaking with her mate Jared (who also works as a scribe) or in her gardens filled with unique and beautiful flowers of all types.
