______ Was a sunny (or at least a sunnier-than-usual) day at the Tangled Wood when Hikaye was patrolling the submerssed logs looking for something interesting. He was surely not looking for what he found. A loud cry catched his attention, followed by intense sobbing, lead by his nose Hikaye looked between the rocks and the moss untill he saw an hatchling of tundra, soaking wet and covered in mud head-to-toe, the little one was crying relentlessy

"Why are you crying, little one?"

"I-I want my mama!" screamed the hatchling

"For sure that you want her! Stop crying and tell me when you saw her last time!" scoffed the impatient male

"She is dead...daddy is dead too...everyone is dead..."

"Shadowbinder help us all" murmured the male "what happened little one?"

"There was a monster...a monster with a lot of heads"

"Emperor" the voice of Hikaye was hard and cold as he said one of the most feared word in the whole Sornieth

"yes" cried the little tundra, trembling in fear

"don't fear little one, now you are in the Tangled Wood, far far away from any emperor" Hikaye sighed, what to do now? "what's your name, little one?"

"I am Chaser..."

"Well Chaser, you don't have to cry anymore, now I'm here and I will protect you"

"You promise?"

"I promise little one, I promise"

CHAPTER ONE : THE ORIGIN

His first love was a Mirror female named Willow, together they had two hatchlings: Greeny and Kaesar. Sadly Willow left him to serve the Shadowbinder and Greeny couldn't copes with it so he left for another clan, so he was forced to raise Acquamarine alone.

Chaser has good relationship with all but he know when he needs to use the iron fist in order to mantain the safety of his clan. The first time that since his start as leader he had to punish someone was when Thirok fought Ares so long that the other male had to flee. Chaser was inflexible and made Thirok a pariah, stating that anyone who would have dared to mate with him would have been banished too. When after long time Thirok ignored his ban having hatchlings and living in the clan itself Chaser lost his mind and thought of punishing Mauve, in his mind infact, the dragoness was guilty of helping an outcast living among the others and tried to kill her with his fangs, luckily her son, Cyan blocked him. After this both Darknessqueen and Acquamarine asked for taking the crown away from Chaser. The Tundra Male was isolated from the rest of the lair and condamned to live in a separate cave underground while the clan voted for the next Leader.

CHAPTER TWO : CIVIL WAR

Two dragons fought for the crown: Acquamarine with all his helper and Percival, supported by Darknessqueen. The first wanted to kill Chaser to punish him for his wrongs while the second believed that jailing him could have been enough. Meanwhile, in the darkness of the cell in which he had been thrown, Chaser reflected on his mistakes and remembered the wise words that Hikaye had addressed before leaving "remember little one: The Shade will not come with trumpets and armies, The Shade insinuates in the mind and whispers to the darkest part of our soul and that's where we have to fight it ".

through the little window Chaser he saw days and nights alternate while the shame of letting himself be tempted by The Shade, then one day, all of a sudden, the door opened and Aquamarine and her henchmen came forward, grinning

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Are you ready for your punishment, Daddy?"

"I am," the dragon murmured ruefully

but a moment before the executioner's ax dropped a roar on its head, it shattered the air and a fury was clawed, scales and teeth fell on them, killing Owain ... it was Thirok.

"Why did you save me?"

"because it was right like that"

"I could have killed Mauve! I would have done it!"

"I know and I will never forget it but I forgive you"

"you ... forgive me?"

"Yes, I know what it feels like to be full of rage, I know what you can do and I know you're a good dragon"

"but I did horrible things!"

"and then you will make amends, you will ask for forgiveness and you will pay your debts, but you, Chaser, you are a good dragon and everyone deserves a second chance"

"thank you"

"Now give us a cut, fur ball and let's go before Acquamarine awakens"

"where do we go?"

"Somewhere else".

the caravan moved quickly, fearing Acquamarine's revenge.

CHAPTER THREE: THE PATH OF TEARS

The poor journey travelled for days on end, step after step but their paws went weaker and weaker every mile they passed, thirst and hunger and tiredness tormentated them and every day was worst then the previous untill one day Chaser raised his paw

"stop" he said

"why? We are nowhere far enough to be safe" growled Thirok

"we can't continue like this, we will fall dead one after another and your loved one will be the first"

"Are you looking for trouble again?" he growled

"no, i'm not, i'm stating the truth"

"And what do you think we should do?"

"We need to stop, we need organization"

"What are you saying? Are you suggesting we need an expert of exiles?"

"Yes indeed I am"

"But we don't have one!" Roared Thirok on the edge of his nerves

"Oh, we have"
