Atlas had always been a dreamer, a stargazer. Every night, he would climb atop a jutting stone pillar, wings shimmering under the shining light of the moon, wrap his tail around the stone for balance, settle down and watch. Atlas would look on, contentedly, as the stars rose high into the beautiful night sky, twinkling during the late hours in which the Wildclaw would stay up, before falling, giving into the brightening and powerful light of the rising sun. These nights spent out alone, peering up at the stars- thousands upon thousands... countless - never ceased to amaze Atlas. Sometimes, he would leap off the craggy pillar; unfurling his wings and soaring up... up... as high as he could go before spiraling and swooping back down again. When each night ended, Atlas would head back to the lair, seeming almost, when, rejuvenated. He too comforts, consolence, and energy from the celestial bodies that orbited their planet. This land was his home. The truth of it reverberated through his bones, warming his heart, making him smile. The land of the Arcanist was his home, and it would be forever.
But it wasn't always. Atlas grew up among the green-eyed dragons of the Wind Flight. Racing through the grasses and flying through an endless expanse of blue sky- it was a feeling Atlas wouldn't ever forget. The Wildclaw enjoyed the freedom, he was loved and cared for throughout his childhood, but growing up, something just didn't... click in Atlas' life. He had always felt more free at night, but in those times he didn't have the energy to stay awake and stargaze after a tiring day of flying. When he got older and became more interested in other flights and their homes, he left his after much research and a small boost of courage to head for the land of the Arcanist.
Since then, Atlas has established new friends among his current lair- and flight-mates. The gargantuan libraries filled to the brim with scrolls for every topic fulfilled Atlas in a way the whispering winds of the Windsinger's domain never could. Here, he felt whole, complete. Thoughts of leaving or regret about his choice have never even crossed his mind.

Atlas, presently, through hard work, time, and effort, has become a well-known dragon among his clan. He is respected, especially among the scientists and lower ranking astronomers. Young and dreaming hatchlings look up to him. Who wouldn't? Atlas had plucked his "unreachable" dreams right from the stars and brought them back to the earth. He has made groundbreaking discoveries about celestrial bodies, and, space in general. Singlehandedly, he built the lair a personal telescope to rival the Archanist's. This is where he spends most his nights now, watching, as each night the constellations change. Atlas has memorized the dates of upcoming lunar and solar eclipses for the next 40 years. He spends his free time teaching dragons who have similar dreams to him.

Nowadays, Atlas is still making new discoveries almost every year. His knowledge on astronomy, among his clan, is unrivaled. On the surface, it seems as if he has all the answers. In reality, he doesn't, and it drives him crazy each day, knowing that there are so many undiscovered things out there that he might never know. Atlas has devoted himself- mind, body and soul- to his passion.

The biggest fear Atlas has is that, when his life is nearing an end, he will be saying "I could've... I should've... I would've..." So he tries to live life in the moment. Atlas doesn't waste his time on idle things, instead of making use of each second. Every new idea, every new discovery, he writes down in great detail; keeping all of it neatly organized to pass on to his successor. "When in doubt," Atlas will tell his students, "always look toward the morrow- in fact, look farther. Your toils today will help make the future possible."
