Skald and her sister Skuld were Sinmara's first hatchlings, and awakened a bit of the motherly side of her. If by motherly you mean "look at my babies and die", anyway.

Rare for a guardian, she found her charge before she was even born - her sister, who she already tried to protect when she still had half her eggshell on.

Just as rarely, she survived losing her charge almost fine; both knew that Skuld had a higher calling and when the Shadowbinder called, Skuld answered without hesitation and with full support of her sister, who now looks after her children.

With her sister recently gone, Skald had a nest of her own, but destroyed all eggs bare the one that felt closest to Skuld. Maybe the loss had taken a toll on her even though she would not admit to it. All her further hatchlings in turn went to the Lady of Shadows where they stay with Skuld.

She is now looking after Loki, her tiny fae half-sister, and they are inseparable. Slowly, Loki's... shady... influence is creeping over her, visible best in her eyes.
Skuld was the other half of the Dynamic Duo, the twins that brought first life into the then gloomy lair. And even though she was born a wind dragon, she had a mischievous streak a mile wide and felt much more at ease in her new shadow-y home.

Skald and her were usually inseparable. One wonders how she got enough privacy to have a nest...
