Her wings shine like the sun, even in the torchlight, ripples of color mimicking the streaks of light that filter through the water and the trees. As she passed the entrance of the cave, she bent her delicate head to greet a cooing hatchling. Those in the clan knew how gentle and sweet she was, but those who had fought in battle alongside her knew that she could turn on a claw, folding her wings tight to her body to dive and attack. What she lacked in bulk, she made up for in incredible tactical awareness, even in the middle of battle. Those claws may be small, but she kept them sharp, and the way she scraped at the stone as she took off from the mouth of the cave was a testament to that. The moment the sun hit her scales, she was like a beacon of light, tossing shine about her and onto the ground below her. A short flight, just to stretch her wings on such a nice day, and then she was landing back into the comforting fog of the Crescent to return to her books. Ruthless as she might be in battle, she couldn't help indulging herself to a day of rest every now and then.
