Biography
Gravedigger
"We have always buried our dead in The Hewn City," Tendanor says. "It's tradition, and I'm not willing to break it." She's firm on the issue, but Gzrel disagrees.
"The Hewn City is not safe, and neither are the burial chambers. The damage is still being done up top, but the below ground work is as much in chaos.
All the old burial grounds are reopened, and the newly buried are to be identified anew," she states.
"The emperor did much damage, but in its slumber we seek to avoid spreading the Imperial infection, as it is called."
Tendanor tuts impatiently.
"To avoid complications of three or more imperials, all graves will be reopened and signed, checking for too-close buried imperials."
"But that is stupid!" Tendanor yells. "If they were too close they'd already turned!"
Gzrel's expression hardens.
"These imperials, that form the emperor, are proven to be hundreds of years old. They were not accidently killed close by one another, they were purposely resurrected. As such, we cannot allow it to happen again."
Tendanor gnaws her teeth together.
"BUT I OWN THAT GROUND! I," she slams her hand in the table, "have the RIGHT to bury my clan in a respectable tomb!"
Haures stepps forward to calm her leader, but Tendanor is fuming and cannot seem to calm down.
Gzrel takes a breath to continue. "I am here to give the departed in your clan a proper burial. It will have to suffice, the chambers are under lockdown and cannot be reached by other dragons. You may reach your dragon on the inside by post, but I'm sure they'd rather stay underground for the time being, rather than meet the terror topside," she bargains.
Tendanor is snarling with fury.
Her voice drops low. "We'll see," she growls. "What to do when someone dies."
The skydancer narrows her eyes, but nods as the conversation is obviously finished.
"We will."
