Due to his father's curse, Trenlin never got to see much of him. Though the times he did he'd never leave his fathers side, listening to stories he'd tell of courageous dragons he knew who would fight back the shade and other various monstrosities. Vampires, evil spirits, shade consumed warlocks, and other monstrous foes would fall before these mighty heroes like Tiber. He practically idolized his father and his companions for all the good they did for the world. His father never told him of the weight it bore upon his heart. He felt it was too much for the child to know at the time. As he grew, Trenlin begged and pleaded to his mother and her companions to train him to fight. He desired nothing more than to join his father's side to do good for the world and make it better for all. After resisting him time and time again, his mother, Nocturnal, relented finally and allowed the now young adult train to defend himself. She taught him the ways of the rogue as she would teach any other student of hers. The training was relentless and often almost too much for the boy to bare. Though stubborn minded he charged through, never ceasing till he overcame the obstacles placed in front of him. The determination of her own child surprised and pleased the queen of thieves. This was something she hadn't seen in quite a long time. Not since the young fae who ages ago desired to become the greatest spy in Nocturnal's ranks. As he trains, Trenlin has learnt more and more about his father. How the dragon he came to adore was cursed with a never ceasing hourglass affixed to himself, counting down to his demise. The only way to prolong his own life was to hunt down the terrors he told tales of. Some of this curse had passed down to his children, though it simply manifested itself in the sandy capsule gene the three all share. They all count down to something, but to what no one was quite sure.
