Aster hurried down the tunnel, tiny limbs scurrying along, arms full of fabrics and materials. She was in a small panic, her job list backed up and customers were beginning to ask questions. It wasn't her fault that the supplies had arrived late, but even so she still had to pay the price, because now she would be the one spending three nights awake working constantly to get everything done on time.

As she rounded a corner, making her way down to the dorm complex part of the lair, mention of her name caused her fins to twitch. She stopped and peered down one tunnel, of which was dark, as lights had not been installed as of yet. It was a new tunnel, currently being expanded and worked on to introduce more dorm spaces for new dragons.

"Yeah, what a hack!" Aster hears a harsh cackle. The two dragons working down there, Swampy and Phaedra, were two ridgebacks who were infamous in this lair for being shamelessly bratty and gossipy. It was enough to make a pearlcatcher blush. Aster's fins drooped, was she the topic of their latest savagery?

"I know, right? What is going on with her fashion? Isn't she supposed to be a tailor?" A pair of cackles, and Aster felt her spirit drop. Even though she knew what they were like, she was sure she was friends with them, or at least on good terms. Were they just that traitorous? Had they been merely pretending to be nice to her the whole time?

"Is she? I couldn't tell, her work is just tacky and cheap! That dress she made for me has its inseams showing, it was dreadful! Couldn't wear that otherwise my reputation would be destroyed!" Says Swampy, and Aster could feel her heart break. Sure, the dress wasn't her best work, but she had poured all her heart and effort into that! Besides, it was a free gift for what she thought was a friend!

"You're right, precious, you deserve only the most perfect of clothing." Cooed Phaedra in her silky deep voice. "Not that disaster of a fashion piece!"

Now, Aster could feel her blood beginning to boil. She had not spent four years self-teaching herself to tailor for this kind of attitude! Her memory searched her list of recent commissions and she couldn't help but think about that cravat she had been paid to make for none other than Phaedra herself. Aster had spent many years trying to quell her inner shadow nature, trying to remove that instinct to play pranks and tricks, after all that wouldn't make for a professional business at all.

But now, as she turned away to continue her walk to her dorm, she couldn't get that cravat out of her mind. Oh, what she could do with it for sweet revenge! Hide a spider egg sac in there? Design it to fall apart after only one use? Aster delighted in imagining Phaedra showing it off only for it fall apart suddenly. She knew what those two were like, anything that could turn them even into the slightest joke would destroy them.

Aster couldn't help but smirk as she entered her room and dumped her fabrics into her fabric basket and approached her tailoring bench. Oh, this was only the beginning of their feud, she knew this, but she was in this for the long run.
