  Shiro is a florist by trade, but his stock is unlike any you’d find in the common shop. Rather than growing flowers, Shiro cultivates weeds of all varieties, from chicory to chickweed. Some can be sold in bunches, for their soft, muted colors are attractive in their own way; others are leafy, and sold as ingredients in potions and medicines. Outsiders to the clan think him odd, but his clanmates know better than to doubt the versatility of Shiro’s wares.

When asked why he chose weeds as his crop, he shares a long and winding tale of growing up an outcast. He was much like a weed in his youth, he claims--useful, but not beautiful enough to be considered so. He was underestimated at every turn, considered a nuisance by his family and peers, and even after aiding them in their time of need, he was never quite able to earn their admiration. He was too different, too ugly in their eyes, and so he turned to the might of weeds for comfort. They thrive wherever there is plantlife, and they, like him, have hidden talents.

As an adult, he is neither bitter nor vengeful. His childhood is far behind him; he endeavors to become a kinder, gentler dragon with each passing day. It takes a tender hand to grow things, not one fueled by malice.
