"I led a rescue team before I came here. Hated it. Loved it. Sanguin was a member of my team for a time. We never really could see eye to eye."




Spar: "You know how I operate. Don't try me."

Sanguin: "Spar, just this once, can we try?!"

Spar: "If you want to get yourself killed, get off my squad. You knew what you were getting yourself into. Hatch-lings, adults, elderly, puppies, kittens; makes no difference. We can get to the elderly and if we stick to the plan, we can rescue the puppies as well. But we cannot reach those hatch-lings. I've looked into every possibility." She let's out an annoyed sigh.
"Remember when you first joined? You haven't changed, kid."

*Flashback*

A young Sanguin stands before Spar, looking a bit shocked. "So we are just going to abandon them? What happened to putting children first?"

Spar looks at him, unamused. "I've never done that. Not once. We rescue who we can and then we leave. Besides, this is purely hypothetical. You need to look at this from a logical standpoint not an emotional one. Let everyone die because you wanted to rescue some hatch-lings? Or rescue a few adults and get your team out alive? Which sounds more reasonable to you?"

Sanguin looks flustered, even against his red scales. He lowers his head a little, obviously defeated. "Whatever, Spar. We could always find a way. I'll change your mind."

Spar smiles, ever so slightly. "No, kid. No you won't. I'm about saving as many lives as possible. You'd get us all killed."
