He's a prince among dragons.
Literally. After all, his father is Clan Leader.
Unfortunately, it is entirely literally. Buttercup does not have a princely personality.
He's inherited the worst of both parents. Buttercup has the nature of a polite trickster who looks and seems kind, inherited from his Shadow father. But deep inside, he has inherited the cruelty and terrible outlook on life that belongs to his mother.
In the end, he is a very unpleasant dragon. But nobody would dare say this to his face. He might not kill you, but he'll do something worse.

The smooth voice is so much like his father's, accented with the notes of the musical Coatl tongue, sweet as honey from the Bumbles, rich as the hoards of the oldest Light Clans, and soft as the fur of a Cumulus Seal. It sounds like an enchanting song that no other beast can recreate.
Unfortunately, the part of your mind that can ignore the siren song of his voice knows that he is not any kind of sweet or soft. He is the opposite of those things, hard and cruel, with sharp edges like Tundra canines or Kamitachi claws, but worse.
But still... with a voice like that, and the kind smiles, and the caring tilt of the head...
How bad can he really be?
