Biography
ASRA - Moon Witch
Asra was born in the brambles and the dark woods, with the moon shining down on her all the while. She was the last of her clutch to hatch, a lucky portent, a sign of patience, and her mothers rejoiced when she finally joined her brothers, free of the shell. All the while, she basked in moonlight, at peace with her new existence.
She was a quiet hatchling at night. While her brothers preferred to make a fuss and get up to all sorts of trouble, Asra was content to lie under the open sky and dream her days away. Sometimes, one of her brothers joined her, calling in the dark to make the moon and stars all the brighter. Sometimes, she was all alone, a child of the endless and infinite. Those were the best nights, too, as much as she loved her family, because those were the nights when she spoke to the moon. She told it all her hopes and dreams, all the little things in the world that made life so big. It learned her dreams and fears alike, and sent its light in return to give her comfort, even on the nights when it was barely a sliver in the sky.
The moonlight stayed with Asra as she grew, ever present. It had a warmth to it so unlike the sun, so fleeting and indescribable that Asra learned to let it come and go as it pleased rather than to cling to it only for it to slip through her claws again. No one may own the moon, it seems. But she has come to work beside it. The bond she shares with the moon is exceptionally strong after so many nights of sharing secrets, and now, she can call on its light with only a gentle nudge of magic. It is a heavenly body of patience, luck, healing, all the things her mothers hoped Asra would be when she was young.
The moon has its own destiny, its own gravity, and Asra is hopelessly caught up in it, much to her delight.
